Ousyra Monemvasia
Ousyra , Phoenician for happiness was founded by the exotically named Edward and Eileen Maitland-Magill-Crichton. The grapes are farmed organically. Monemvasia comes from nearby Paros. Mid golden hue, hints of ripe golden plums and dried herbs lead to a lovely round plum stone fruit palate based on plums and apricots. Plenty of acidity, but this carries a lot of weight and will partner a hearty selection of meze.

OuSyra, Syros, Aegean Islands
OuSyra Winery was founded by Edward and his wife Eileen, in Chroussa, a small village on the south of Syros. They started with just two wines, a white from local Serifiotiko and rosé from Fokiano, using native Naxos grapes. The 2018 vintage was vinified for the first time in their privately owned winery and they have received great reviews ever since. Their wines are distinguished by their aromatic character, freshness, and structure. The winery is still family-run on Syros, creating terroir-driven wines from rare indigenous Cycladic varieties.
